Summer Lovin'
Last Monday I started my new job. For those who don't know, I'm working at my school's pre-school summer school. I take the 3 year olds out to recess, give them their snack, and read and/or review whatever letter they learned that day and repeat the same process with the four year olds.
So. Cushy job? I think not. I've learned to appreciate simple things more and more. It's so amazing to go back day to day and see how they interact with their different personalities and quirks. There are also a lot of kids that remind me of people that I know right now. It can get a little old with the attention span of the three year olds. It's also annoying when the 4 year olds can't play nicely together and I hear every other minute "So-and-so pushed me", "Did not", "Did too" and so on and so forth. But for the most part, I've found it to be very rewarding, and I've made some new friends along the way.
Well, friends that think I'm five years old and married with kids. Friends that don't know how to spell they're last name. Friends that are afraid to use big toilets.... and friends that diminish my intelligence level by the end of the work day.
But they love me, and I them, and the fact that they'd rather be cuddling with me than doing anything else makes me feel like I'm on top of the world.
In other news, My parents leave for China a week from today. I know that they would appreciate your prayers with them as they travel and minister to China.

THIS is why I loved teaching kindergarten right next door to where you are spending your mornings. Kids are so funny. And I really did feel like it was me and them against the world. I'd walked into my cardboard tree room (it really was the best, wasn't it? Remember how great?) and just be happy to be in such a fun place with fun little people.
