....And the Duck Quacks No More

On Sunday I was at Walgreens with my mom and Xiaoning when I saw a display of dog toys. There was a stuffed duck in the display and I thought, "How cool would it be to get a Labrador Retriever a stuffed duck?" Think about it, Labs are trained to fetch the game in their mouth after it's shot.

It gets better, (not that you're all too thrilled about me buying a stuffed duck for my dog but hey. it's my blog.) you know how most dog toys squeak when you squeeze them? The duck quacked when you squeezed it. So OF COURSE I had to get it for Ebony.

And she loved that duck. She just loved it a little too much, because now, the duck has a broken neck.

It also no longer quacks. Which upset me, because I loved the duck just as much as Ebony did. I'm actually considering buying another one. Am I crazy or what?

Not crazy. Just quirky. Everyone likes quirky.

Things I'm Learning about Myself

-I still enjoy my childhood memories. I still love to read some of the books to the kids at school that I enjoyed when I was younger. I still remember all of the Bernstein Bears storys, and I think that Wilber from Charlotte's Web is a very selfish pig.

-When people call you and ask what you're doing, you usually say, "Nothing much." or "stuff." I tell people up front. I tell them if I'm dancing in my living room or drinking yogurt with a straw or listening to oldies on our Big Bird record player (that still works-no joke.)

-I enjoy correcting people's grammar, and it takes every bone in my body to restrain myself from doing so.

-I feel way out of my comfort zone when I go shopping- I feel like everyone is staring at me.

-I hate playing basketball. There are way too many things to concentrate on and I'm just not that good at it.

-When you're tall, people expect so much more out of you. All of a sudden, you're good at basketball, track, volleyball, and someone who probably never uses a ladder.

-I am very pale these days.

-Logic comes quicker the older you get.

-I hyperventalate when I laugh really hard, cry really hard, or get a really bad cramp.

-I'm the only girl I know that enjoys watching major league baseball on a regular basis. And I'm ok with that.

-I don't like wearing socks. But when I do, I like to wear my socks inside out.

In other news, I'm going to be in a pageant this weekend, I was just asked to be the captain of our volleyball team with another girl, and the memories are made in the spontaneous things you do. You can't just expect them to happens.

And the most beautiful things in life, are the things that never change.

And that's just one of the things I love about my God.
