Things I've Learned This Week

This week started out being the worst week of my life and ended as the best. So here's what I learned from it....
1. Some stores have a horse kids can ride on. Some stores have a rock. Some stores have a CAR for goodness sakes. Shoe Carnival has....a shoe.
2. Good intentions are rarely seen as good intentions.
3. If people don't want you to know something, don't push it. You probably don't want to know either.
4. Good friends are hard to find and even harder to be.
5. Dads don't like guys interested in their daughters, and the guys can't do anything about that. But, it doesn't hurt anything when the guy calls the father to ask if he can take his daughter to homecoming:)....
6. Mops are heavy when wet, but that makes it more fun when your'e having a contest of how high you can mop on the wall. (We had a cleaning day Wednesday)
7. I get excited when they let us wear denim skirts to school. Other people don't care. They get to wear pants all the time.Big Whoop.
8. It's fun to eat 13 cookies in study hall. It's even more fun when you don't get caught, but no matter what, it would have been better if we had milk.
9. They're aren't many deserts that don't contain flour and sugar. My teachers on a diet, so a going away party was a little hard.
10. The Pepsi machine just doesn't like me.

The best part of the week was when Dave called my dad and asked him if he could take me to homecoming and then asked me. THAT was this week's turning point.
UNTIL LATER

A Self-less Love

Today at school,Ilearned that one of my friends that I have known since 4th grade is being forced to move out of the house. He was adopted when he was in 3rd and he never clicked with his Baptist adopted parents. His mom feels like he doesn't respect her enough, so she's making her SOPHMORE SON move out by the end of May. No financial support, nothing. I really feel for him, I mean, he's known to speak his mind, and that has often gotten him into trouble, but it's not always a bad thing....
So we asked him where he was going to go, and he has a little bit of money saved up from different things, and he might try to rent in Aledo or something.
So I talked to my mother about this, and I know it wouldn't be the brightest idea to have a sophmore guy stay at our house, we have the space, but it might not be good at least until my door can fully close.
But before I even got the words out, my mom comes back with "Well I know I wouldn't be willing to take him in, but I sure hope someone does."
It was then that I realized that we sit around never doing things ourselves, but wish that someone will do something about it. But the problem about this is that everyone thinks this way. For once I want to experience a self-less, unconditional love.
I know that God is always there for me,and he loves me like this, but I want an example in my life. I want to demonstrate this self-less love in MY life.
But for now, I'm just a lonely blogger....

A Night at Whit-dog's

I'm here at Whitney's and she's whoopin' us in Friends Scene it. It doen't really help that she has every season on DVD. So anyway, we're staying up until Whitney is officialy 18. Andrew finaly left, being the only guy there til' 11. Krista and Linds have to get up at 6:30 and I'm leaving at 8:00. A.M. that is. Dirk is going back to his true home. It was great having him here. We did a Star Wars marathon. That's right, all six, in a row. The Force was with us. I'm going to miss him a lot. I have the best brothers in the world. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas, but it's nice to be back at school, in a way.

Thursday, I was telling my mom all about my day. That's right, EVERYTHING that happened. So, Dirk finaly looks at me and says, "If I ever hear the words Dave, Emily, Jon, Peggy, Chris, or any reference to yourself, I'm going to punch you"
So I got up from the table and said, "So in study hall Dave and I were talking about Jon and...."
In a stunning move he dipped his spoon in my ketchup and chased me around the house with it and finally smeered it on his hand which I proceeded to rub it on his arm. It made for an interesting night. I'm going to miss that kid....

The History of my Friends

I was thinking while I was sitting here. Lindsey and Krista were talking about how they first met and what-not. To think back, it's kind of funny to think about how I ended up being friends with these people.
Lindsey- I met Lindsey when I was in 5th grade. We had just met, and we were spending the night at Emily Whaples house. I didn't really like her, I think it had something to do with a guy, or something stupid like that.... I finally accepted her and her New York ways, and now it's hard to imagine not knowing her.
Whitney- Whitney used to babysit me. No joke. I was nine or ten and her sister could'nt babysit, so my parents hired Whitney. Now I'm spending the night at her house.
Krista- The first thing I remember about Krista, is going to a Plus One concert when I was in 5th grade and she was in 8th. I wasn't really friends with her 'till a year or two after, but yeah.
Andrew- Andrew is my only friend from church who is my age. We were on our 5th grade canoe trip, and he was showing everyone his.... liquid bandades. Not much has changed.
Jamie- I honestly don't remember meeting Jamie. She was just one of Whitney and Krista's friends.
Kirbi- I remember when everyone went to The Call but me. They came back and kept talking about this Kirbi girl. Then a while later, she moved to the area and I found out how cool she really was.
hiL-Jenna (hiL). If I'm correct, I belive I knew of her my first year of camp. I really don't remember how we became friends, but I think her sweet spirit and tender heart makes her easy to get along with.
